Cape Cod National Seashore In the depths of the Great Depression, the National Park Service first floated the concept of a national seashore from Duxbury to Provincetown. By the time Congress put forth legislation in the late 1950s, Cape Codders hotly debated the concept, with one prominent citizen predicting “tyrannical destruction of inalienable rights of citizens". Fortunately, the legislation passed and President Kennedy signed the bill into law in 1961. Bill’s presentation covers the birth of the park and illustrates all there is to experience at our stunningly beautiful Cape Cod National Seashore. From walking and wine groups to woodworking and knitting groups, you can find others who enjoy what you do and make friends! Check out our many Join or create a new group, meet new people, & have fun! Bust the Blahs & Join Up! | Social Solos! Do you like to go "do," but don't want to do it alone? Join our New Film Discussion Group! Is a dark theatre, a flickering screen, and a box of popcorn your happy place? Then you need to join our new Film Discussion Group! This group will gather monthly to talk about film backgrounds, plots, motivations, and characters. Fun! ________________ Thirsty Thursdays' Group is OPEN! Meet up with other Nauset Newcomers at Town Cove Taphouse the first Thursday of every month to quench your thirst for beverages and friendship! Beer, seltzers, wine, & specialty wine drinks pair well with take out from area restaurants. Next Meet Up is Thursday, April 2nd at 5:30 p.m. Cheers! ________________ Nauset Newcomers Plant Swap! Spring is a great time to divide your perennials. Perhaps you bought a 6-pack of annuals but you really only need four? Why not swap them for some other variety? The swap is a fun way to share and get new color for your garden. To participate, drop off 5-10 perennial plants or annual seedlings anytime May 14 - 16th at 36 Skippers Way Brewster. Jennipher Ray will care for and arrange them in her yard for the May 17th Swap from 9am -1pm. You take the same number of plants you contributed. Each plant should be labeled in a container. Swap will be at Jennipher Ray's house 36 Skippers Way, Brewster. Questions?
